Since she was an Interior Design student, Christel Guinée has developed a great passion for the textures, colors and patterns of different yarns and textiles. Over the years, textile has even become part of her personality. “It’s like a button that I can’t switch off. When looking out of an airplane window high in the sky, the fields are turning into a green fabric with golden accents".
According to Christel Guinée, an interior consists of different layers. "The cushions and upholstery in general may be considered as the finishing touch which - when carefully chosen - make you feel at home.” Starting from her love for textiles, Christel creates wellbeing for her clients, with the knowhow she has built up ever since she was a student. “With MioMia, I’m passing on the exciting and warm emotions that textiles bring me.”

MioMia pieces are completely designed and handmade in Belgium, mainly in workshops located in Antwerp. Christel only works with dedicated artisans who go the extra mile, with great love and respect for the product. Therefore she is very proud to have been awarded the label 'Handmade in Belgium', for makers of authentic artisan quality products.

Christel realizes that with the creation of products comes great responsibility. She believes good business is investing in sustainable, responsible solutions. Together with the manufacturing partners, she strives towards reducing the footprint of her textile creations.
Therefore, all MioMia items are made to order in Antwerp by dedicated MioMia artisans. Our products are offered in specific, well thought-out dimensions, reducing textile waste to an absolute minimum.

Quality product
At MioMia, premium means an excellent quality from A to Z: from material to product, packaging and service. The textiles are handled with great respect and translated into life-long pieces, designed to be cherished and cared for.
Cushions bearing the MioMia label have an inner cushion filled with duck feathers, providing the opportunity to sink deeper into it. This material ensures the cushion regains its shape after use, by shaking it up. Other filling material is available on request.
The MioMia inner cushions, the zippers and most of the fabrics are OEKO-TEX® certified products.

Christel’s care for a textile piece doesn’t end once an item has been purchased.
At MioMia, consumers can be sure of an excellent after-sales service. The MioMia-team, and its in-house Textile Experts are ready to assist when needed. Over time, due to daily intensive use, it may occur that the cushion gets flatter. It can be refilled on simple request.
